Limerick Scout County is a collective of 17 local Scout Groups based in Limerick City and County in the Mid-West of Ireland.

We provide support to Scout Groups such as organizing events for youth members and training for Adult Scouters. Scouting takes a young person on a journey which encourages them to try new things and enables them to grow, challenging their attitudes and behaviours as they progress through the sections. Progression is recognised formally through our personal progression scheme and informally in the steps a Scout takes through the sections. Personal Progression: Encourages Scouts to set their own goals, to make a plan, and to achieve those goals Covers all areas of growth (SPICES – Social, Physical, Intellectual, Character, Emotional, Spiritual Development) Gives a path to follow, with regular reviews, and celebration of achievement.

Scouting Ireland

Scouting Ireland is one of the largest national youth organisations in Ireland, dedicated to the development of life skills for young people. Since 1908, young people in Ireland have been involved in the Scouting movement. Today, our Scout Groups involve over 35,000 young people and 12,000 volunteers across Ireland.

Scouting Ireland aims to nurture the personal development and non-formal education of young people through the Scout Method, which is an approach unique to Scouting throughout the world.
