The Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) is the national local community development and social inclusion programme.
We support individuals to improve the quality of their lives through lifelong learning, personal development, wellbeing supports and signposting to other services. We support projects aimed at young people living in disadvantaged areas. We also offer Further Education Supports, aimed at people transitioning from secondary school (or early school leavers) to third-level education or further education and training. We provide a one-to-one Enterprise Support Service for those exploring the option of becoming self-employed. A suite of enterprise training courses is available and delivered in collaboration with Limerick Local Enterprise Office.
We support local communities and groups to identify and address social inclusion and equality issues. We offer a Social Enterprise Support Service which supports local Social Enterprises. We also support community-based health, wellbeing and ageing well initiatives in Limerick City.
