From birth through to 3rd level students, NCBI Children and Young Person’s services supports the development and independence of all children and young person’s who are blind or vision impaired. NCBI provides support at the time of diagnosis or at the time of vision loss in the form of information and emotional support in the initial stages. We then provide on going support across the lifecycle including skills and training in assistive technology, information access and general independence skills for home and school.
Target Group
The target group for the Children and Young Person’s Service is for those aged 0-23 years. If a young person is aged 23 and is not in education, they will supported by the NCBI Employment Team and moved to the NCBI Adults Service.
