Comhairle na nÓg are child and youth councils in the 31 local authorities of the country, which give children and young people the opportunity to be involved in the development of local services and policies.

Referral
Annual recruitment cycle involving interview process. There are 30 seats on Limerick Comhairle Na nÓg and the recruitment for same is done once annually in November, with seats becoming available as members age out or after they have completed 2 years. Every Comhairle na nÓg holds an annual Youth Conference in the Autumn/Winter, twith an open invite to young people to attend extended to local secondary schools and youth organisation/groups. At this Youth Conference the young people discuss issues of importance to them and there is an opportunity for interested attendees to put themselves forward to join the Limerick Comhairle na nÓg for the following 2 year cycle.
