Focus Ireland works with people who are homeless or are at risk of losing their homes across Ireland. We offer individuals, and families, advice, support, education and housing to help people to have and keep a home. We believe that everyone has a right to a place they can call home and we campaign to address the causes of homelessness.

Target Group

Families in emergency accommodations.

Referral

We work specifically with families that are already in our emergency homeless accommodations in CRFI. These families would have been referred to our service by Limerick Homeless Action Team on a short term basis for emergency accommodation until something more suitable and permanent is sought for the families. We have project workers that offer supports to the families and a child support worker that offers support to the children.

Focus Ireland

Focus Ireland has provided homeless services in Limerick since 1998. Focus Ireland was founded by Sr. Stanislaus Kennedy. Sr. Stan was involved in a research project into the lives of homeless women in Dublin, when she realised the importance of involving people, who are, or have been directly affected by homelessness, in the development of homelessness services. Focus Ireland works with people who are homeless or are at risk of losing their homes across Ireland. We offer individuals, and families, advice, support, education and housing to help people to have and keep a home. We believe that everyone has a right to a place they can call home and we campaign to address the causes of homelessness.
