A 4-year Nurture programme (6th class – 3rd year) providing students with various group supports, interventions,activities & workshops throughout the academic year. Nurture puts a keen focus on 6th class students as they transition into secondary school. A 3-year Compass programme supporting senior cycle and further education students in 5th and 6th year and 1-year Post Leaving Cert course (PLC). Leaving Cert students receive support, paid extra tuition and LC revision courses. This programme includes mentoring, access to language courses, workshops (mental wellbeing, career guidance and CV/ interview, study, & communication skills). We also provide parent support groups. PLC Support: Students receive a financial grant, peer support and attend workshops with our college students and alumni. A 4-year undergraduate programme. Students receive a participation grant and group support meetings workshops throughout the academic year. Mentoring & Development:Third level students act as role models and participate in project activities with younger students.
Target Group
- Our primary focus is to support students from disadvantaged priority areas.
- We provide a limited number of places to disadvantaged ethnic minority students (migrants or members of the travelling community)
- We provide a limited number of places to students who may be experiencing some form of social disadvantage.
- Target students should have a very good attendance record (90%) and demonstrated significant academic commitment, motivation, effort, or improvement.
Referral
Each programme has an application process and students need to meet certain criteria o to avail of our services . Referral made by the schools but can also apply externally if meet the criteria required. Limited number of places available to people who do not meet ALL the criteria but may experience another social or economic disadvantage.
