The Child Development Homelessness Project is embedded into ABC Start Right Limerick. The project works with children and families affected by homelessness who have received placement through the Limerick Homeless Action Team. The objectives of the project are to support the development s for young children experiencing homelessness, to facilitate linkage with additional services for children and parents, and to enhance parental confidence, capacities and social
connection. The project also aims to upskill staff working in homelessness support services around ways to support child development and positive parent-child relationships.

Target Group

Families with Children under six years old that are allocated temporary accommodation placement by HAT

Referral

Homeless Action Team
Managers and staff at Family Hubs
PHN’s who have a case load of families residing in emergency accommodation
